The 2015 Pacific Games count down begun on Thursday at the Jack Pidik Park in Port Moresby. Athletes and games organizing committees carried out a roadshow including the members of the constabulary force. The Police band led the floats of athletes and 2015 Pacific Games committees to the Jack Pidik Park. Today marks two years to go for the Pacific Games to eventuate. It will see more than three thousand athletes across twenty two Pacific Island nations taking part. Preparation of venues are picking up its pace with the recent ground breaking ceremony at Sir John Guise Outdoor stadium and other sporting site. Games committee member David Conn uttered the importance and opportunities the event will bring forth. Sports and Pacific Games Minister Justin Tkatchenko launched the count down. PNG athletes paraded the launching while Minister Tkatchenko urged to be well equipped for the games. Meantime, Minister Tkatchenko said ninety percent of compulsory acquired Sporting grounds will be governed by the Sport Foundation, and others will go under trusteeship endorsed by the National Executive Council.
