Athletics PNG will be running a Talent Identification Programme (TIP) to scout potential sportsmen and women for the 2015 Pacific Games in Port Moresby.
Invitations are going out to all sportsmen and women who are interested. Do you have what it takes to jump or throw for PNG. Sportsmen and women are invited to try out for Long Jump, Triple Jump, High Jump, Pole Vault, Javelin, Discuss, Hammer Throw and Shot Put. Athletics is embarking on a major talent hunt for athletes in the jumps and throws in order to boost its representation in this event at the 2015 Pacific Games. Jump Coach, Philip Newton, from Brisbane and Tom Brandt from the University of Queensland, arrived in Port Moresby yesterday to conduct the Athletics PNG Talent Indentification Programme for the jumps and throws which commences in Port Moresby on Tuesday. They will be joined by Javelin Coach, James Goulding, from Fiji who will be arriving from Suva on Monday. The Programme will be held at the Sir John Guise Stadium multi purpose oval. It will be conducted for 2 days from the 26th to the 27th of November, 2013. Invitations are going out to all sporting bodies like Volleyball, Cricket, softball, Rugby, Netball, Basketball and Canoeing to come forward and show their interest in participating in this programme to come and try one or more of the events on offer.
