Swimming:
Ryan Pini wins his sixth gold medal in swimming. Finished first in the men's 50m freestyle in a new Games record of 23. 10 seconds. In the 100m backstroke, Pini won another Gold and set a new Games record of 56 seconds. Savannah Tkatchenko won bronze in the women's 200 individual medley finishing ahead was Lara Grangeon of New Caledonia and a Fijian. Tegan McCarthy won bronze in the women's 100m butterfly. Powerlifting: Linda Pulsan received her Gold medal in the 72 kilogram today. Meten Wak raked another one in the 84 kilogram, in the women’s division. Alfred Mel settled for bronze in the 105 kilograms while Vagi Henry also got bronze in the 120 plus division. Squash: PNG women took out Gold in team event, beating New Caledonia. PNG men got the Bronze after beating Tahiti. Rugby Sevens: PNG women won Bronze after defeating New Caledonia tonight 15 - nil. Fiji beat Australia 12 - 10 to claim Gold and Australia settled for Silver. In the men's, Tonga got the Bronze after defeating PNG tonight, Fiji beat Samoa 33-7 for Gold. Mixed Touch: Samoa defeated PNG 9-7 for Gold Cricket: PNG women make it through to Gold play off tomorrow, after beating Samoa by 25 runs. PNG will meet the winner of the Vanuatu / Samoa match in the afternoon. Basketball: American Samoa defeated PNG 71-55 today in the women's game. PNG will play Fiji tomorrow for Bronze. In the men's, Guam defeated PNG 105-53. Soccer: Papua New Guinea men's soccer team missed their chance to play Olympic Qualifying finals after going down 3-1 to Fiji today. The Fijians dominated the field and made use of every ball opportunity, scoring two goals at first half and one in the second half. PNG boys, however, replied to Fiji's, scoring just one goal by striker Tommy Semmy. The winner in the game between New Zealand and Vanuatu will play Fiji in the Olympic Qualifying final on Sunday. Meantime, PNG boys will play Tahiti in the Pacific Games semi's next Wednesday. For women's soccer, PNG will play Cook Islands in their last Group B match at 3pm tomorrow.

Dissapointed with the performance of PNG mens soccer games.They should have played better.The game standard seem low.Why can't proper selection be made because there are many skillful players out there in the country.
