PNG's Tania Mairi has stepped up her efforts a notch, this time making sure of gold in the Womens' 25m Games Pistol Event today.
Mairi who settled for two silvers in the team and later the individual 10m Air Pistol Events yesterday, has made certain of gold today. She says it needed a whole new level of concentration and focus- something she was prepared for today. She out-played her mentor, closest rival and fellow PNG competitor Camelita Donald who settled for silver. Maeve Darius from French Polynesia was awarded Bronze after a hard fought battle against PNG's Winifred Sauna for third place, who put up a brave fight but could not master enough for a medal. The mixed 25m Games Pistol Event is currently underway towards finals this afternoon at the June Valley Shooting Range. NBC
