LEADING brewer South Pacific Brewery has donated K4 million for the 2015 Pacific Games.
The money was given to the Pacific Games Organising Committee chaired by Emma Waiwai. A quarter of this amount (K1 million) will then be given to the Papua New Guinea Olympic Committee (see separate story) to assist in athletes preparations. SP Brewery general manager Stan Joyce said yesterday his company was excited to participate in the biggest international sporting event set to hit PNG shores in 19 months. “We are very excited about the games, and will be investing K4 million in it. One million kina of that amount will be assisting the preparation of our athletes for the Games,” Joyce said. The organising committee’s chief executive officer Peter Stewart thanked SP for their support. “We are thrilled to have a major corporate partner show faith in our organising committee and support the Pacific Games as a platinum sponsor,” Stewart said. The money will be deposited to the consolidated revenue fund for the organising committee to host the games. They needs to raise K67 million with K30 million already taken in. Platinum sponsors apart from SP Brewery are Telikom (K7m) and Ok Tedi (more than K3million) and services). The gold sponsors are JDA Wokman, Brian Bell; silver sponsors are Moore Printing, Hertz Rent A car, Pacific MMI and Fuji Zerox (Remington). Comments are closed.
