THE Sir Hubert Murray Stadium is set to be completed on time before the Pacific Games in July.
Curtain Brothers PNG General Manager Justin McGann gave the assurance on Friday during a media tour to the stadium led by the NCD Governor Powes Parkop. He confirmed the stadium should be completed by the end of May. Two grand stands have been completed while the third one is under construction. The seats for the third grand-stand are been pre-fabricated at Motukea and will be transported to the site in due course whilst the pitch is taking shape. CEO of the Host Organising Committee, Peter Stewart said the stadium will be the host venue for all soccer matches and also the finish line for the triathlon event. Parkop said more development would be done to the stadium after the Pacific Games. He said the stadium will be complimented into a six stories high structure that would facilitate a state of art training facility, restaurant, office space and more sitting facilities on the grand stands.
