Schools throughout the country will be vying to design the 2015 Pacific Games Mascot.
The 1991 Pacific Games mascot was a cuscus. The animal was known to be of significant importance. It was well represented, giving a taste of the unique cultural diversity and the environment unique to PNG. This year, the task is now mandated to students. The 2015 Pacific Games Mascot competition, offers students a unique opportunity to get involved and create a lasting legacy. The mascot must symbolize the spirit of the games and be fun, friendly, enthusiastic and community-minded. The competition is an opportunity for schools to be part of the Games. The mascot must reflect PNG’s lifestyle to be remembered. It should also reflect happiness, hospitality, and readiness to care and share. There was excitement amongst the Port Moresby International and Wardstrip Primary school students who attended the mascot competition launching last Thursday. The winner of the competition will have K10, 000 which will be for the school and have a chance to welcome the mascot during the launch in February 2014. The competition kicked off yesterday and will close on Friday the 8th of November, 2013. Information is available from the 2015 Pacific Games Committee. Comments are closed.
