THE chairperson of the 2015 Pacific Games Organising Committee (GOC) Emma Waiwai has described the K4 million sponsorship from SP Brewery as another milestone as it prepares to host the 2015 Pacific Games in Port Moresby.
“Today (Wednesday) marks yet another milestone in our journey to 2015,” she said. Waiwai said as chair of the GOC she welcomed another old friend of sports and athletes developing in PNG to the 2015 Games family of sponsors. SP Brewery now joins the growing number of sponsors getting behind the GOC’s preparation to host the 2015 Pacific Games. With a sponsorship value of K4 million, “we welcome you on board as a platinum sponsor,” she said. This is a great commitment from the leading brewer in the region at our time of need, and we thank the Board, CEO and management for wanting to partner with us as we progress towards staging the Best ever pacific Games in 2015. Waiwai said SP Brewery has a long history of association with the development of athletes and sports in PNG. “For example, the profile of athletes at Award Launch celebrates the highs and lows al all events be in the Pacific Games, Commonwealth or the Olympic Games. The popular SP Sports Award drive home the message that winning is not without hard work, sacrifice and commitment; it’s not cheap and definitely not free. “Our athletes, teams and sports and for that matter events like the 2015 Pacific Games cannot happen without the support of our sponsors, SP Brewery has been there and see it all, thank you,” she said. Waiwai said GOC is happy to have a partner with years of proven experience in winning both locally, regionally and internationally and our athletes from Team PNG and indeed the rest of the Pacific stand to benefit from his exposure and experience.
