On arrival at the Jackson Airport yesterday team spokesman Temu Okotai was glad his athletes had made it to the Games.
Okotai, who is a former resident of Port Moresby, said most of the athletes had come to a different environment.
“But it’s good to be back in Port Moresby.” He said safety was paramount and they had to be careful while enjoying the competition. “All the athletes are looking forward and are well prepared to win medals in their respective sports.
“The Australians and New Zealanders are taking part, which will help the standard and level of competition,” Okotai said.
“This should be a good Games.”
