The Country’s premier University, UPNG as it is fondly referred to, will host the crown jewel of all venues, the Games Village.
UPNG was first established back in 1965, and has since graduated over 20,000 people, among them, Prime Ministers, doctors, judges and scientists and many others from PNG and the Pacific.
The Games village will house 3000 athletes and officials from 21 Pacific Nations that will be participating in 28 sports for the 2 weeks.
The venue is on target and will be completed on time.
The design inspiration for the Pacific Games Village seeks to draw on strong features of Papua New Guinea’s identity and character.
